What can I say about this book… um, its well written. There are so many, SO MANY, things I want to rant about, but I can't without this being one giant spoiler review. So here are my major issues:
1) The girl was abused at an early age then rescued, but chooses to become a club whore so she can stay around her friends… okay no growth there or self esteem.
2) The “man” she loves treats her like trash, loves her, is cold to her, loves her, wants forgiveness, loves her… NOT A MAN.
3) Her adoptive father, who loves her like crazy, and her “man” allow her to become a whore without much challenge. They even help her have a more comfortable time in her new position.
4) She loves every man that shows her kindness, she has no self worth, self esteem and never shows any growth. The entire book is childish and immature. Written like a little broken girl trying to be a strong women. I am never convinced she's strong.
This books reads to me like nothing more then a child trying to find love after being abused for years. There was nothing redeeming about the story and I gad to choke down the pages to finish. That being said, I liked the authors writing style, her dialogue choices, the dual narration and the world in which she created, I just with she would have made better choices for her characters and given them a back bone and growth. I will check out more from this author, maybe it was just this book that didn't work for me.

This was such a great read! Yes, there were parts of the book that had me cringing / tearing up about what Jenna went through. And there were times I wanted to slap some sense into her...but at the same time, considering everything she had gone through, I actually understood her reasons for not wanting to be an old lady. I get why some people were put off with her deciding to be a club whore instead of an old lady, but it was a nice change to read about a woman who made her own damn choices (whether they be right or wrong) instead of pining away for years for some guy who continued to act like a man-ho before he figured out what he wanted. I certainly didn't agree with the path she chose, but I thought it made sense for her character...which led her coming to terms with her past and moving forward. She certainly wasn't a doormat-pushover for Kidd!

Renegade Lady by Dawn Martens and Emily Minton captivated my interest from the start. I am new to them as authors, but I am definitely interested in reading more from them in the future. This book told a complete story, while weaving possible plots for future stories in the future.

Jenna "Ice" Chandler has grown up being a part of a Motorcycle Club. It is the only thing she ever has known. Her parents made it their priority and she considered it her home, until she was no longer safe there. After months of abuse, her life once again has possibilities because Chipper rescues her and brings her into his home in Big Clifty, Missouri and the Renegades Motorcycle Club.

When Jenna comes of age, if she wants to remain a part of the Renegade Sons MC, she has two choices. She can either become an old lady or one of the clubs "Women." Her experience has shown her that no man will ever be faithful, so she knows what she must choose.

Kiddrick "Kidd" Jones knew there was something special about Jenna the moment he met her. The problem is she was too young and there was nothing he could do about her. He is forced to watch her from a far, and he does so for years. Until one day, as President of the MC he realizes he can no longer have that as an option.

This book is filled with suspense, combustible chemistry and memorable characters. I am looking forward to reading more from this series.
The story line moves quickly, flowing through the horrifying trauma endured by Jenna, who endured the sick perversions of a pedophile. He gets his hands on Jenna when her sperm donor, the evil monster who is technically her biological father, gives his own daughter to a be abused physically and sexually!

Fortunately, another biker, Chipper, saves her from being further sexually assaulted and beaten when he hears a whimper and investigates it to find Jenna bloody, beaten and being raped by two bikers from the charter he was sent to investigate.

He takes Jenna out of there immediately, unwilling to leave her for another second! He puts her in the back of his bike taking her to his charter of the MC in another town. Chipper and his old lady adopt the badly abused sixteen year old as their own daughter and treasure her. For the first time in her young life she has stability.

The twenty-six year old President of the Renagades MC and brother in law to Chipper and his wife befriends Jenna instantly. They immediately have chemistry around each other, but he treats her as a little sister and never would think to abuse her in any way. He eventually develops feelings that are not platonic toward Jenna. He feels sick about it and uncomfortable to admit he has these type of feelings for her until his sister tells him she can see how he feels for her and she knows that when Jenna comes of age, that he will claim her as his own. The closer she nears her eighteenth birthday, the more he tries to avoid her and his current partner is extremely jealous of what everyone can see, the two both have strong feeling for each other.

On her eighteenth birthday he decides to acknowledge his desire for her, but will her claims her as his old lady? Of course things will have to go horribly awry to make a good story, right?

So when complications occur between the two we have to wait and wonder what will happen so they may get their happily ever after. Kiddrick, aka Kidd is written beautifully and he has the lifestyle so different from societal norms, yet perfectly befitting an MC. That aspect alone is so intricately well spun and amazing that I fell in love with multiple characters in this book.

Needless to say there is compelling reading abound in this book, but to suffice, it is an amazing love story that is far from conventional. It's absolutely riveting reading!
I recommend you read this book, you'll be sucked into this eloquently written, though difficult to read only due to the traumatic, unjust and desperately sad tale that is Jenna's story.

I, quite honestly, could not put this book down. I was desperate to see if the demon spawn that caused Jenna's suffering would get exactly what they deserved and if her pathetic excuse for a human biological father would also get his comeuppance or not. I'm exhausted writing this review because I stayed up all night and read this book from cover to cover.

You really should read it yourself to learn all about this lifestyle of bikers and how they deal with situations so differently from our cultural norms. It is a horrific story, but certainly one of the most compelling ones I have read this year. I will definitely be reading the rest of this series as fast as I can get my hands on them, well, maybe I'll start the next one after a bit of sleep! )
